Through the traditional interview format, Naféei places the subject’s experiences at the center, simultaneously weaving a narrative of affect from brief but pivotal recollections uttered with honest sincerity.
As a reflective exercise, ARE WE ON AIR? doubles as an archive of the interviewees’ candid personal history while also unveiling an overarching theme of pop cultural memory in the twenty-first century through music.
