The Prada Double Club Miami

StudioNeu was appointed to co-curate the line up, sequence, and sound design for Prada’s Double Club in Miami. An art-installation as night club, which the artist Carsten Höller and The Prada Foundation brought back on the 10th anniversary in 2017 for three nights during Miami Art Basel.

On the occasion of Miami Beach Art Basel held in December 2017, Fondazione Prada presented The Prada Double Club Miami created by artist Carsten Höller: an art installation, a temporary nightclub, a celebration and an ongoing exploration of the dialogue between Western and Caribbean cultures in the incredible city of Miami.

The Prada Double Club Miami was the second iteration of Carsten Höller’s Double Club concept: the best of two worlds brought together in two adjacent locations with no concession to fusion.

The fully functioning nightclub - open from December 5 to 7 - juxtaposed simulated atmospheres from two cultural climates to simultaneously offer visually and acoustically opposed experiences.

Set in a 1920’s film studio complex, the installation was divided into an indoor club space and an outdoor tropical garden, one entirely monochromatic and the other ultra-polychromatic. International live music acts and DJs were showcased in one space, while the other hosted a range of Caribbean and South American diasporas in Miami. Each performer embodied the oppositional concept behind the project itself.

As the Director of Music through André Balazs Properties, while based in Los Angeles, Naféei oversees all musical features within the hotel.

DISCO: The Bill Bernstein Photographs

StudioNeu adapted the concept creation of Bill Bernstein’s iconic disco photographs shot between 1978-1980.

This included New York’s disco clubs from Studio54 and Paradise Garage to Area.

Arman Naféei curated the show from selecting images, designating a gallery and an event space, inviting collectors, and generating press. Studio 54’s Nicky Siano spun the sold out exhibition.

Chanel J12 Yacht Club

StudioNeu spearheaded the sound concept for Chanel’s one-week take over of the Sunset Beach Hotel on Shelter Island to align with their launch of the J12 Yacht Club.

StudioNeu consulted with the branding and the narrative that enhanced the experience into another dimension through the sense of sound.

Tod’s The Ride. Milan

On the occasion on the presentation of Tods Men’s Spring-Summer 2020 collection, the studio designed a special installation for Tod’s in the wonderful setting of Villa Necchi Campiglio.

EPI 1959

For EPI 1959, StudioNeu created a unique sound concept for the newly rebranded and renovated property.

Through this focus on the sense of sound, EPI 1959’s 60th Anniversary became a sonic narrative allowing visitors to experience the localized history of the space.

FIFA World Cup Moscow 2018

As one of the primary sponsors of the FIFA World Cup in Moscow 2018, Budweiser created experiential environments such as The Bud Hotel and The Bud Club. StudioNeu was enlisted to co-curate the talent for the commercial with a diverse crowd hailing from all around the world.

Musical acts included Diplo, Craig David, Nas, and Oliver Heldens.

Emporio Armani Sounds

StudioNeu teamed up with Emporio Armani Sounds to create a conceptual 360 music brand for that allowed Armani to have touch points that went beyond signage.

We helped establish Armani’s NYC Uptown EA Flagship Store by bringing in live acts Ladyhawke and Skylar Grey, and created EA Sound Collateral, giving guests the ability to take music away with them in the form of “play buttons”— an .mp3 player designed as a button.

SN expanded the musical series with a collaboration with The Standard Hotels, a luxury version of Boiler Room creating bridges between musical taste, Uptown Luxury, and Downtown Cool with DJs Seth Troxler, Blondish, Art Department, and Nightmares On Wax.

Sunset Beach

StudioNeu created the sound concept for André Balazs’ vision of Sunset Beach.

He implemented an ongoing music series titled Balearic Sundays, supervising its production, sound, lighting, and press.

Through programming, SN implemented an on-going music series titled Balearic Sundays, with production hyper-focused on atmosphere through sound and light design.

At 9, the program regularly features legendary DJs from Ibiza: Jose Padilla of Cafe Del Mar and the prolific Greg Wilson alongside the likes of contemporaries such as Soul Clap and Jackmaster. Live programming have featured Stephen Marley and Vieux Farka Touré.
